The large “R” is a papier mache letter, the rest are mdf. Begin by drawing around each letter and both front & back onto the papers. These designs are by House of Zandra. Continue by painting the letters with acrylic paint. Then apply Aged Ivory Frantage embossing powder around the outside edges and heat to melt.
Cut out the papers making them slightly smaller than the outlines of the letters, ink the edges and attach to each letter, front & back.
Coat the paper flowers and butterflies with paper hardener to strengthen and increase flexibility and body, it allows them to be shaped much better and they will hold their shape. Cut them out, shape them and add decorative finishes to the centres of the flowers. I used a mixture of beads, mica flakes and pearl dots and a bit of Stickles on the butterflies.
Assemble the decoration using chain, charms and jump rings where desired. Attach all the elements to the letters.
Finally glue all the letters together to create the word. A hot glue gun is best for this job.
